Enigma

The Enigma is hiding a secret. A subtle smile, a sidelong glance, what do they know that we don’t? It is probably that their skin is beautifully smooth and hydrated without the distracting scents of Sun Basin’s other soaps.

The Enigma bar soap is packed with the same sumptuous butters and oils as our other soaps sans the scent. Meaning that it leaves the skin supple, clean, and smooth, but maintains an air of mystery. Try it out.

Where it Comes From

The Sun Basin

The Sun Basin is a remote valley cradled in the mountains of Missoula, MT. Wind catches words, moments, and memories, sweeps them into the sky, and settles them gently into the basin, allowing us to gather them up as inspiration and present them to Botanie, our local soap making partners. Botanie then distills the memories, mixes them in small batches with gorgeous natural ingredients, and turns out bars of soap that are good for your skin and your soul.

    Good Daily Soap

    I always use unscented soap for regular hand washing because my pets don't love the smell of scented soap so this is perfect. I love the design too. It's so pretty! Which is also nice if it's sitting in a soap dish on your counter like mine :)

    It does vary in how it looks. Neither bar I've gotten looks exactly like the photos but it's still so pretty.

    THE soap

    Half of everyone in my household has sensitive skin, and we avoid fragrances, so I'm incredibly familiar with various companies "unscented" and free and clear offerings. For a lot of them, the unscented option actually smells bad, because the fragrances mask really sharp or sour or industrial bitter smells. That's absolutely not the case with enigma! It's unscented but smells fine. The soap is super gentle - my baby has really sensitive skin, and had issues with dove sensitive and ivory (baby wash? Forget about it. I couldn't wear scented deodorant or use scented soap at work and hold them). Enigma is absolutely perfect for them, and they've had no rash at all since we switched. We also have to use way less lotion as a family since we switched, since it's so hydrating.

    I have very sensitive skin as well, and I react really poorly to coconut oil (painful breakouts and inflamed skin), but I have absolutely no issues with this soap. I've actually had fewer breakouts overall since switching.

    A nice soap

    It's unscented and cleans me nicely. I could do with a slightly larger bar (one bar at my usage lasts me a little under a week) but I appreciate that might not happen at the current scale. It's nice on my skin and has no fragances!
