Where it Comes From

The Sun Basin

The Sun Basin is a remote valley cradled in the mountains of Missoula, MT. Wind catches words, moments, and memories, sweeps them into the sky, and settles them gently into the basin, allowing us to gather them up as inspiration and present them to Botanie, our local soap making partners. Botanie then distills the memories, mixes them in small batches with gorgeous natural ingredients, and turns out bars of soap that are good for your skin and your soul.

The founding goal of The Good Store is to make amazing products that donate to a good cause. One hundred percent of the profits from Sun Basin Soap go towards building the Maternal Center of Excellence in Sierra Leone. We are committed to raising money not only for the construction of the hospital, but also to fund comprehensive training and staffing to tackle medical injustice at its root.

    Makes my shower experience

    Let me start by saying I am very sensitive to scents, but I ordered this soap as a gift and I liked the smell so much I subscribed for myself. It smells like sweet oranges and mulling spices - sort of like mulled wine, without any of that alcohol smell. The scent is not too overpowering and washes off with almost no smell left behind on your skin, which I appreciate. It has a nice lather and lasts a long time, and doesn’t get weird or change texture after a while like some soap bars do.

    Smells delicious!

    "Citrus" can mean any number of things so I wasn't sure how much I would like this, but turns out I LOVE IT! It's a sunshiney orange scent merged with warming spices, so it's like getting a big happy warm hug.
