Partners In Health (PIH) was founded in 1987 by Paul Farmer, Ophelia Dahl, Jim Yong Kim, Thomas J. White, and Todd McCormack. The organization began with a community-based health project called Zanmi Lasante ("Partners in Health" in Haitian Creole) in Cange, Haiti, focusing on treating people with HIV/AIDS in rural areas. This initiative laid the foundation for PIH's mission to provide high-quality healthcare to impoverished communities worldwide.

Through deep, long-term partnerships in communities burdened by poverty and disease, PIH works to build strong health systems that endure. Their goal is not just to treat illness, but to dismantle the systemic barriers that keep people from accessing care fighting inequality with the tools of modern medicine, and with the unshakable belief that health is a human right.

Good Store is an official partner with PIH, and we collaborate to enhance global health outcomes, particularly focusing on medical injustice in underserved regions like Sierra Leone and Lesotho. Good Store donates 100% of its profits to charitable causes, with a significant portion supporting PIH's initiatives including the Maternal Center of Excellence in Sierra Leone and tuberculosis treatment in Lesotho.
