Where it Comes From

The Sun Basin

The Sun Basin is a remote valley cradled in the mountains of Missoula, MT. Wind catches words, moments, and memories, sweeps them into the sky, and settles them gently into the basin, allowing us to gather them up as inspiration and present them to Botanie, our local soap making partners. Botanie then distills the memories, mixes them in small batches with gorgeous natural ingredients, and turns out bars of soap that are good for your skin and your soul.

The founding goal of the Good Store is to make amazing products that donate to a good cause. One hundred percent of the profits from The Awesome Coffee Club go towards building the Maternal Center of Excellence in Sierra Leone. We are committed to raising money not only for the construction of the hospital, but also to fund comprehensive training and staffing to tackle medical injustice at its root.

    Perfect Bar for Deep Cleansing!

    I got this bar because one reviewer says it smells like fruit loops, and it’s so true! The scent is smooth and sweet, but not too much, and makes my shower experience lovely! Because it has grit, I don’t drop it, which is a lifesaver for me, a butterfingers. You can also lather it directly onto your scalp or onto your hands. I recommend at least partly placing it directly on your scalp — it lathers better and feels nice.

    The attatched photo is after about 10 washes. Safe to say that this bar has made my hair better.

    I’d love to see a conditioner bar, or a shampoo bar that has hydrating properties. Because it *is* so good at deep cleansing, sometimes it can make my hair literally squeaky, which some people love, but that I’d prefer to be balanced with some hydration.

    My current favorite Sun Basin soap

    Really good soap with a really good scent. The tea provides a dark, yet gentle base, while the orange cuts through the darkness of the tea, making a wonderfully balanced scent.

    Still desperately waiting on a vanilla scented soap, but until then, this is a close second. Love it. Highly recommend.
