Where it Comes From

The Sun Basin

The Sun Basin is a remote valley cradled in the mountains of Missoula, MT. Wind catches words, moments, and memories, sweeps them into the sky, and settles them gently into the basin, allowing us to gather them up as inspiration and present them to Botanie, our local soap making partners. Botanie then distills the memories, mixes them in small batches with gorgeous natural ingredients, and turns out bars of soap that are good for your skin and your soul.

    Just what I'm looking for!

    As someone with almost no sense of smell, the menthol in Snowmelt is strong enough that I actually get to enjoy the scent I'm using! However, it's also simple and fresh enough that the soap is hitting the perfect balance to not be overpowering either. Regarding exfoliation and hydration, it's good standard soap--no negatives.

    Perfectly peppermint

    I like how this soap is not as briskly cooling as the tj's tea tree peppermint soap (which is too chilly for me), but definitely is still a nice scent and feel. I like oat based soaps because it's a little less harsh. Like most sun basin soaps, it does take a bit more water to get it to lather initially but after a couple days of use it lathers easier.

    Uncomfortable

    WARNING! This soap may cause your genitals to feel like they are on ice, or at least have a fan pointed directly at them for your entire shower. This is the only one of the soaps that have done this to me, and my wife. Maybe this doesn't effect everyone or somehow we got a batch with really high menthol levels, but it has made shower-time a little less enjoyable over all.
