Where it Comes From

The Sun Basin

The Sun Basin is a remote valley cradled in the mountains of Missoula, MT. Wind catches words, moments, and memories, sweeps them into the sky, and settles them gently into the basin, allowing us to gather them up as inspiration and present them to Botanie, our local soap making partners. Botanie then distills the memories, mixes them in small batches with gorgeous natural ingredients, and turns out bars of soap that are good for your skin and your soul.

The founding goal of Good Store is to make amazing products that donate to a good cause. One hundred percent of the profits from Sun Basin Soap go towards building the Maternal Center of Excellence in Sierra Leone.     Smells lovely but very strong

    While I did enjoy the smell of this one, it did come on just a tad strong for my taste. Otherwise, excellent.

    Great smell and texture

    I don’t usually like sweet smells as much, but this is an exception. The spices really make it. Planning on using this one seasonally.

    You better like the smell of licorice

    Before I even opened the package I was overwhelmed by the scent of licorice (anise). Don't get this one if you don't like licorice. Personally, that scent gives me a headache, so I'm not enjoying it, but I should have known not to get some with anise in it even if it claimed to be subtle. I don't notice the citrus part of it, unfortunately. I will use it because I don't want to waste soap, but I will be so glad when it gets used up and I can get another scent from here. I can't quite remember what I got before, but I liked it much better. Maybe it was spiced citrus.

    Not for Me

    "Spiced Citrus" sounded great, unfortunately for me the star anise really beat out the other scents and I'm not a fan. (I should have payed more attention to them being featured in the picture.) Nothing wrong with the soap, just not a good scent match for me (ended up giving it away).
