Where it Comes From

The Sun Basin

The Sun Basin is a remote valley cradled in the mountains of Missoula, MT. Wind catches words, moments, and memories, sweeps them into the sky, and settles them gently into the basin, allowing us to gather them up as inspiration and present them to Botanie, our local soap making partners. Botanie then distills the memories, mixes them in small batches with gorgeous natural ingredients, and turns out bars of soap that are good for your skin and your soul.

The founding goal of Good Store is to make amazing products that donate to a good cause. One hundred percent of the profits from Sun Basin Soap go towards building the Maternal Center of Excellence in Sierra Leone.     My favorite soap!

    I love all of the Good Store soaps, but this one is my favorite (so far). The smell is there, but not overpowering and it doesn't linger on my skin after my shower is over. All of the soap I've tried thus far leaves my skin feeling soft, not dried out, and clean. I'm lookong forward to switching my subscription around each month and trying all of the different scents.

    Lulled into an impossible, if fleeting, stress-free state upon nostril meeting bar...

    I know the descriptions of these soaps are professionally written and inspired by formulas of fiction, but they still manage to undersell and therefore overdeliver the delicious complexity of the scents that came bursting from my mailbox irl. I honestly haven't suds up the soaps or 'poos yet because I'm finishing current bars, but I imagine I will be compelled to write another review, or maybe lick them. Not sure which yet, but I don't usually write reviews...

    Warm Citrus 💜

    My favorite of the citrus soaps! It's warmer than it is bright -- I love the scent. Someone in another review mentioned it not mixing well with their sensitive skin. That hasn't been my experience, so it's not universal.

    This renews my interest in bar soaps!

    This soap is perfectly scented, not too heavy, and leaves my hands feeling smooth and soft. My previous experiences of bar soap all left me feeling like I immediately needed lotion to re-hydrate my skin, and I am so thrilled this is an exception to that experience. Gave it a try as a one-off, and now I'm excited to try the other scents.
