Where it Comes From

The Sun Basin

The Sun Basin is a remote valley cradled in the mountains of Missoula, MT. Wind catches words, moments, and memories, sweeps them into the sky, and settles them gently into the basin, allowing us to gather them up as inspiration and present them to Botanie, our local soap making partners. Botanie then distills the memories, mixes them in small batches with gorgeous natural ingredients, and turns out bars of soap that are good for your skin and your soul.

One hundred percent of the profits from Sun Basin Soap go towards building the Maternal Center of Excellence in Sierra Leone.     Very scrubby

    This is certainly a very exfoliating soap! However, you can only get the full scrub effect if you directly use the bar, and then it lathers so much it doesn’t last terribly long. Still— lovely experience

    Hard, clean, long-lasting, foaming soap

    Besides the scent - which does remind me of the scents of the southwest that I love - this is an excellent bar soap. Before these I generally haven't liked bars: the glycerin feel, the chemical smell, the way they go mushy. Good soap does none of those things. And nearly every month seems to last exactly until the next one arrives! I love this and would recommend it to anyone.

    As an add-on, I'm a runner and cyclist and shave my legs - with this soap, and it does just fine.

    heed the sensitive skin warnings re: coffee grounds!

    I really love the scent of this soap, and while I like how the coffee grounds feel, they are a bit rough for my sensitive skin. I wish this scent was available without the coffee grounds so I could still use the scent but not have to worry about skin irritation! The soap otherwise works great for my sensitive skin; I think the coffee in this bar just irritates it a little (which is warned in the product description, but I would definitely consider it for anyone purchasing!).
