Where it Comes From

The Sun Basin

The Sun Basin is a remote valley cradled in the mountains of Missoula, MT. Wind catches words, moments, and memories, sweeps them into the sky, and settles them gently into the basin, allowing us to gather them up as inspiration and present them to Botanie, our local soap making partners. Botanie then distills the memories, mixes them in small batches with gorgeous natural ingredients, and turns out bars of shampoo that are good for your hair and your soul.

    Lovely!

    Never used a shampoo bar before, figured I´d try it out since I was ordering some other things. Lovely scent. Got ALL the oil out of my hair- which is good for me as my hair gets rather oily after literally one day. Color safe too! I plan on re-dyeing my hair bright neons this week- so we shall see how the shampoo holds up to that. (Currently the color is very faded). Will update if able. Planning on getting the travel container and soap saver. I expect this to be especially useful for camping/trips where showering is limited as it gets my hair very very clean and no liquid concerns with flying! Yay for the environment too!

    Surprised in the best way possible

    First of all, I know there is no one size fits all solution. Since this is "for all hair types" I didn't exactly expect it to live up to my carefully selected shampoo (my scalp gets irritated and my hair gets greasy easily) but I thought there is no harm in trying, I can always give it away to someone with less finicky hair. And it didn't live up at first, but there was nothing technically wrong with it so I kept using it.

    And guys, I was so wrong??? My scalp feels better than ever, there is less frizz and breakage than before. Sure, gone is the silky soft texture that I am used to, but it seems that's a good thing? After a while my hair started to look healthier than ever and now I can let it simply air dry. With long wavy hair that is such a game changer. I already ordered one with a different scent, out of pure curiosity.

    To be fair I do still use a conditioner but I want a lifetime supply of these bars.

    Shampoo Bars are great!

    I have been loving this shampoo bar! The scent is great and cleans my hair just as good as regular liquid shampoo. I also find it easier to apply on the hair at the base of my neck and around my ears without feeling like I’ve used too much. If you’ve ever thought about trying shampoo bars out, this one’s a great one to grab. Love it :)
