Where it Comes From

The Sun Basin

The Sun Basin is a remote valley cradled in the mountains of Missoula, MT. Wind catches words, moments, and memories, sweeps them into the sky, and settles them gently into the basin, allowing us to gather them up as inspiration and present them to Botanie, our local soap making partners. Botanie then distills the memories, mixes them in small batches with gorgeous natural ingredients, and turns out bars of shampoo that are good for your hair and your soul.

    Lovely!

    Never used a shampoo bar before, figured I´d try it out since I was ordering some other things. Lovely scent. Got ALL the oil out of my hair- which is good for me as my hair gets rather oily after literally one day. Color safe too! I plan on re-dyeing my hair bright neons this week- so we shall see how the shampoo holds up to that. (Currently the color is very faded). Will update if able. Planning on getting the travel container and soap saver. I expect this to be especially useful for camping/trips where showering is limited as it gets my hair very very clean and no liquid concerns with flying! Yay for the environment too!

    I'm hooked

    I tried some other brand of shampoo bar about 15 years ago and it didn't work for me at all -- it was very drying, but only so-so at cleaning. I hadn't considered giving the idea another chance until now, but this version is a completely different experience. It foams up into a nice lather -- I really hadn't expected that based on previous experience, so it was a delightful surprise. There are a lot of fragrances I can't tolerate, but eucalyptus and rosemary oil is a great option that doesn't leave me sneezing from the smell of my own hair. And due to allergies and skin sensitivities I often can't use hotel shampoo, so I just packed this bar in my luggage for holiday travel -- easy to do with a solid shampoo bar.

    So great!

    I’ve tried so many shampoo bars over the years and they seemed to always leave my hair with a film on time. Not this one though!!! Cleans hair so well and smells DELICIOUS! Can’t wait to try more.

    Smells really nice

    This did a great job cleaning my hair. I tend to have slightly oily hair and some dandruff. This lathered up very well and left it clean without feeling stripped to a squeak. The next day my hair is soft and shiny and has a very gentle scent. Love it!
