Where it Comes From

The Sun Basin

The Sun Basin is a remote valley cradled in the mountains of Missoula, MT. Wind catches words, moments, and memories, sweeps them into the sky, and settles them gently into the basin, allowing us to gather them up as inspiration and present them to Botanie, our local soap making partners. Botanie then distills the memories, mixes them in small batches with gorgeous natural ingredients, and turns out bars of shampoo that are good for your hair and your soul.

    Excellent Bubbles

    I was worried the shampoo bar wouldn’t foam up like I’m used to with liquid shampoo. But it did so well! Plus I felt like I had more control over how much shampoo I’m using. And it smells amazing!!

    Fantastic product!!!

    The lather is gorgeous, it cleans my hair super well without much effort and leaves my hair and scalp feeling clean but not dried out. My only note is that I’m not a huge fan of the scent. Somebody else said the bar smells a bit like fruit loops and they were not wrong - I get more of a lemon drop candy smell from it personally. It’s not a bad thing at all and the smell doesn’t linger after rinsing, it’s just not my personal preference. I hope an unscented version is coming soon as well as a conditioner bar - you guys would have my whole shower solved!

    The video is for the lather of it which I’m always curious about - I didn’t pick up quite as much as I normally would for showers but it’s a really soft and velvety foam that has a lot of bang per buck, and stays nice and foamy even when my hair’s pretty greasy. It’s also a really firm bar that holds up in the shower so I can tell it’s going to last for a really long time.

    By the way I have 2b virgin hair that’s pretty average thickness/fullness, just in case anybody’s curious.

    Best shampoo bar I’ve ever tried!

    I bought this on a whim after enjoying the regular soap bars from Good.store and I thought I might as well give it a try! I am so glad I did!!!! I love that the packaging is minimal and recyclable. The bar itself smells wonderful (kind of like fruit loops!) and is the perfect size.

    My hair has never felt cleaner, while also maintaining its shine and volume! I am obsessed! I thought maybe I’d use it once a week or so between my regular shampoos but I use it every single time. It’s super easy to use, lathers really nicely and rinses out clean. I find that for the first time ever I can go longer in between hair washes without my hair feeling greasy or dull. I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever go back to regular liquid shampoo. 10/10 stars!

    I use it when I normally would, and it doesn't require the conditioner my previous Paul M shampoo required. I'm super stoked to have a plastic free solution, though it might be a 45 day bar, rather than a 30 or 60 day bar for me. Might have to go to two bars every 3 months to make that work. The lemon scent is quite refreshing.

    Great for both my husband and me

    My husband has short dry hair and I have slightly oil-y hair with a bob hair cut. This shampoo bar is great for both of us. It lathers so much. I'm an engineer in the printing industry and I love the packaging! The packaging is simple and using inks that are better for environment for recycling, composting, and limiting VOCs. Great mission and doing it intentionally at every step!
