Where it Comes From

The Sun Basin

The Sun Basin is a remote valley cradled in the mountains of Missoula, MT. Wind catches words, moments, and memories, sweeps them into the sky, and settles them gently into the basin, allowing us to gather them up as inspiration and present them to Botanie, our local soap making partners. Botanie then distills the memories, mixes them in small batches with gorgeous natural ingredients, and turns out bars of shampoo that are good for your hair and your soul.

    Love this shampoo bar!

    I was gifted this shampoo bar during a secret holiday gift exchange and I’m absolutely hooked on Sun Basin shampoo bars now! The lemonade hibiscus scent smells amazingly good, like I almost want to eat it. My hair follicles are pretty thin so I like to wash my hair almost everyday because I get a lot of buildup from the hair products I use after I shower. I thought the price was high when I first looked up the soap, but this bar has lasted me for four months, so I think the price is very reasonable and I like that all the profits go to charity. I like to lather the soap onto my scalp and I always come out of the shower feeling like my hair is super clean and refreshed, better than the liquid shampoo I used to use. I store the soap in a portable plastic soap container with little ridges on the bottom and the soap lasted a long time. After finishing this bar, I purchased another one in the mint scent and transitioned to using a mesh soap saver bag to store it which will hopefully make it last longer. I highly recommend this soap and it makes me feel better knowing this shampoo helps cut down on my plastic waste and support maternal healthcare.

    Wonderful shampoo bar!

    This shampoo bar smells amazing, like a sweet spring morning, and lathers really well in my long thick hair! It is not irritating to my sensitive dandruff prone scalp and I don't mind the texture because it's better than other shampoo bars that leave a grainy rice feeling that pulls at my hair. I love that I'm not paying for water, the bar takes up way less space than a bottle of shampoo, and the profits are helping mothers and children in Sierra Leone!

    I'm enjoying it

    I got this because everyone said it smells like fruit loops - and that's definitely true! It also smells of lemongrass. It's not too overbearing or strong and lathers really well. I'm excited to try other fragrances but think this might be a go-to for me
