Why This Product

Dew Drop

Close your eyes and breathe in Dew Drop. Earthy rosemary caressing your hair, highlighted by bright crushed mint leaves.

It’s not every day that you encounter the perfect shampoo. But the Dew Drop Shampoo Bar might just be it. From the very first ingredient, we are thinking about your hair and what it needs, which is why our shampoo bars are packed with rich butters, essential oils, and natural ingredients picked to soothe, hydrate, and strengthen. Try it out.

Where it Comes From

The Sun Basin

The Sun Basin is a remote valley cradled in the mountains of Missoula, MT. Wind catches words, moments, and memories, sweeps them into the sky, and settles them gently into the basin, allowing us to gather them up as inspiration and present them to Botanie, our local soap making partners. Botanie then distills the memories, mixes them in small batches with gorgeous natural ingredients, and turns out bars of shampoo that are good for your hair and your soul.

Where the Money is Going

Great Shampoo for a Good Cause

The founding goal of the Good Store is to make amazing products that donate to a good cause. One hundred percent of the profits from Sun Basin Soap go towards building the Maternal Center of Excellence in Sierra Leone. We are committed to raising money not only for the construction of the hospital, but also to fund comprehensive training and staffing to tackle medical injustice at its root.

    The Longevity??? Hello???

I was excited to buy this with the Christmas discount so I could support this great company, knowing where 100% of the profit would be going. It's fine if it doesn't work out well for my hair, I told myself. I could always just use the two I bought as hand soap bars, right?

    Y'all.

I have had super-fine, super-straight and super-greasy hair for like 18 years of my life UNTIL THIS YEAR — ever since I started using it on January 1 I've had the 3-days-long soft breezy volume I've been searching every brand for. No adjustment period, no skin irritation, and no waxy buildup that other shampoo bar tutorial websites warned me about. I don't even need conditioner for my ends anymore.

But the most impressive part is how long it lasts, compared to other bars of soap I've used. Look at this picture — I used the Dew Drop shampoo bar on the bottom left every 2 to 3 days from January 1 to April 1, and used the Dove bar on the bottom right for 3 weeks *less*: the exact length of time for the Dove bar to self-destruct. Pathetic. Skill issue. Even through the learning curve in the first month where I DEFINITELY used way too much, Dew Drop has gone from the shape of a macaron to a red blood cell, only shrinking slightly in the process. At this rate it might last me well into August, which makes it more cost effective than the relatively cheap Cantu cleansing shampoo that treated me pretty well last year.

This is a high-quality product that I would annoy my friends about buying even if it was…

My long, curly, sweaty locks thank you

Since COVID and the start of me working from home i stopped cutting my hair at all and let it grow. And when i say grow, i mean its gotten to my waist line. Its also medium thick and wavy/curly. Photo included for reference -

At the start of this year a couple of my resolutions were to focus on buying responsibile products for everyday use, and to train for a triathalon. With all that hair and ALL that sweat i was skeptical of a bar, but curious.

Y'all... im not exaggerating. Its one of the best shampoos I've ever used. It's strong enough to remove ALL my curly hair product build up and ALL of the sweat from the multiple workouts per day while still being gentle enough on my hair type. Super "cleansing" shampoos always stripped my hair of any moisture leaving my hair dry, frizzy, and prone to breakage. I never thought a bar could leave my hair this soft.

The bar was about palm sized in person and a few inches thick. I originally thought the price seemed high, but its lasted me at least 2ish?-3 months already and i easily have another 6-8 months left of it. Cheaper then any special curly shampoo bottle ive ever tried with how long it lasts.

Only part about using a bar for my hair that I had to readjust to, was taking the time to rub the bar and foam up the product then apply it section by section instead of just dumping globs of shampoo anywhere i needed it. I personally don't like rubbing the bar directly against my scalp. The process is a little more time consuming…

    Minty freshness

Love this shampoo. At home, the gym, traveling, easy to transport and makes my hair shine. Scent is just enough, not overwhelming. Great lather. So glad I found this.

    I like it

This is my second time trying a shampoo bar, and I haven't experienced issues with lack of suds, but I know from reading reviews that some bars out there have this issue. I've, easily and likely, made too much suds.

I went with rosemary mint, as rosemary is usually good for growth, though I'm not sure if it is enough to have an impact as I believe it is added in for the smell. I don't feel a tingling effect from the mint, but there may be a very faint tingle. I like this bar and will continue to use it, I have curly hair similar to @curlelia on IG; I detangle my hair first with conditoner & water, shampoo scalp, deep condition length of hair, and typically do a wash n go with gel.

I may use a "Purifying Hair & Scalp Mask" after shampooing because this shampoo seems to have some conditioning ingredients too, and I am trying to use up the products I already have. Alone, I find the bar cleansing, but over time maybe the mask may be needed (not an issue with this particular brand, as lots of brands typically sell shampoos and clarifiers).
