Connecting the Dots Between What You Buy and What You Change
By Hank Green & John Green, Good Store Co-founders

When we first started Good Store, our dream wasn’t just to make it easier to find thoughtful products (though that part has been pretty awesome). It was also to build a place where your daily choices—like the socks you wear or the soap you keep by the sink—could connect to something larger. Something that didn’t just feel good, but did good.
That’s why we’re excited to introduce this blog, Connecting the Dots. It’s a space where the Good Store team (and beyond) can share the stories that don’t always fit neatly on a product page or in an Instagram caption. Stories about how things are made, about the people and organizations we partner with, and about the impact your purchases create in the world. Sometimes we’ll invite you behind the scenes of Good Store (where there are both successes and some occasional sock-related chaos). Other times we’ll talk with artists, vendors, and partners whose creativity and vision inspire us daily. And sometimes, we’ll just share ideas for living more thoughtfully—because doing good shouldn’t feel like homework; it should feel like a part of everyday life.
This month is an especially meaningful time to launch Connecting the Dots. Alongside this blog, Partners In Health is officially cutting the ribbon on the Maternal Center of Excellence in Sierra Leone. Back in 2000, Sierra Leone had the highest maternal mortality rate in the world. Since then, two decades of investment and ambitious health policies have reduced that rate by 78%, one of the fastest improvements ever recorded. This new facility will build on that progress, providing lifesaving care to mothers and babies and ensuring those gains continue. It represents years of work, collaboration, and determination, and it exists because people like you believed that change was possible. Every purchase from Good Store has helped make this a reality. That’s not marketing language; that’s just the truth.
So yes, this is a blog. But more importantly, it’s an extension of what Good Store has always been about: connection. Between people, between choices and outcomes, between your daily routines and a world that needs all of us to care for it.
Thank you for being here at the very start of this new chapter. We’re grateful to get to do this work together, and we’re excited to keep connecting the dots with you.
