    Support PIH!

PIH was with us on hill day and other TB fighting events, and do great work! They even gave us free water bottles, notebooks, and pens at Hill Day! I fully support and appreciate the work they do! My dog agrees with this message too.

    Paul Farmer is the man

I read Mountains Beyond Mountains by Tracey Kidder in college for fun and the book changed my whole way of thinking about solving problems. Partners in health is unlike almost any charity I've seen. They take a systems approach to healthcare. They deeply study the communities where they work. They determine the elements that will most contribute to health and do those things even if they are not something a health based relief organization would usually do. Many organizations run into roadblocks and say, "Oh well, we will have to put this project on hold until someone else more suited solves that other problem." Partners in Health in that same situation rents a fleet of bulldozers then gets volunteer pilots to fly them to another country on a surplus army transport plane and crushes that roadblock into rubble. Then clears away the rubble and builds a food bank, a well, a school for women, and a teaching hospital on the site. It's Badass. If Partners in Health were a move actor it would be Dwane the Sylvester Schwarzenegger Statham Lee. I love that Good Store made it easy to donate money to PIH and that they do so themselves in such a significant way! Woot!
