The Coral Reef Alliance tackles the complexity of coral reef die-offs by working in and out of the water. The Maui Watershed Restoration project is a land based project to reduce sediment runoff that blocks sunlight from reaching the coral reefs of Hawai'i.

    Amazing dishwashing powder

    I have a brand-new, fancy dishwasher, and for months I was fighting the most infuriating white powdery coating on almost everything that came out of it.

    Glassware was usually fine, but metal, pots and pans, plastic, and even the inside of the dishwasher would end up covered in this weird white residue. You could sort of rub it with your finger, but it wouldn’t fully come off. It was basically waterproof, soap didn’t remove it, and I tried EVERYTHING.

    More detergent. Less detergent. Jet-Dry. No Jet-Dry. Vinegar in the wash. Vinegar in the rinse. Dishwasher cleaners. Baking soda. Diluted phosphoric acid. At one point my kitchen basically looked like a chemistry lab, with coated dishes soaking in every acidic and alkaline solution I could think of.

    I had AI research it. I watched YouTube videos. I read Reddit threads. Nothing fixed it.

    I was legitimately considering installing a whole-house water softener/filter system, which should give you some idea of the mental state this stupid white powder had driven me to. 😂

    Then I came across a Technology Connections video about dishwashers. I already subscribed to the channel, and the video was long, detailed, and extremely nerdy about dishwasher chemistry... so naturally, I watched every second of it.

    Cleans dishes, not dishwasher

    I love the option to put in as much or as little powder is needed but the pink bacteria is growing back in mt dishwasher. The soap does not leave a residue on the dishes so long as they are placed in a way they can drain well and it removes fresh stuck on food.

    Good product unfortunate packaging

    Works great dishes are clean but arrived with a hole in the bag so I lost a bit before using and it got on everything else in the order.
