EcoGeek: Because Cleanliness is Next to Healthiness

A birds-eye view of the greener cleaning solution for your home. | By Malikai Smith

What’s worse than waking up on a lazy Sunday, drinking your favorite morning tea or coffee (I’m looking at you, Keats & Co), and remembering your toilet needs scrubbing, that mountain of dishes needs washing, and the laundry you’ve let pile up over the last two weeks needs addressing? I’m projecting, aren’t I… But noxious fumes from countless harsh chemicals make scrubbing a toilet even less inviting a job than it already is, and harsh dish soaps can leave your hands dry and irritated.

Luckily, Good Store is here to introduce you to your favorite new curator for cleaning-companions: EcoGeek. Mr. Clean can stay where he belongs in the cabinet under your grandma’s sink. It’s 2026, and we’ve got better, non-toxic and eco-friendly ways to keep our dishes degreased and our toilets twinkling.

Whatever You Need, EcoGeek Has You Covered

EcoGeek has a juiced lineup, and a picture is worth a thousand words. Check out some of the team:

EcoGeek has curated  products for laundry, windows, dishes, bathrooms, surfaces, and all purposes in between (I just used a Meliora Soap Stick on a pair of white sneakers and got them looking brand new). But I’m getting ahead of myself. First, let’s talk about EcoGeek. They haven’t only put this lineup together, they’ve got players in the game. Your starting lineup-

EcoGeek Solid Dish Soap

This soap comes in a compact, compostable cardboard box so you can de-clutter and leave plastic bottles in the past. It cleans well, it’s easy on the skin and it lasts way longer than you’d think.

The Scrub Brush

This brush, and a long-handled option, are made from all-natural materials which will decompose naturally once disposed of, instead of taking up space in a landfill like their artificial predecessors, for - let me check my notes here - oh yeah, eternity.

The Soap Saver

This simple sisal bag extends the life of your soap bar by keeping it elevated and dry. Less soap wasted=less restocking=less cost to you and less carbon emitted by the sleepless behemoth that is our modern day supply chain. Another point for the good-guys.

The Swedish Dish Cloth

This is my personal favorite. Paper towels are the most egregious example of reliance on disposables and over-consumption. And I’m not preaching to you here, I’m guilty as guilty as the next guy. I’ve burned through single-use sheets when the stove gets greasy, the windows get streaky and stuff spills. But now I have an alternative. It’s reusable, it’s absorptive and it’s easily washable. Less important: it looks cool, but credit where credit is due. You can feel a lot better about cleaning up a mess when you don’t have to use 10 paper towel sheets to do it.

Good Products Made By Good People

But like any good team, EcoGeek’s depth goes beyond its own players. Here’s where the curation comes in. They’ve partnered with Green Llama, the aforementioned Meliora, and Sheets to bullet-proof the roster.

Green Llama

Green Llama is a woman-owned business operated out of Kentucky, and Good Store is proud to offer their glass, all-purpose, and bathroom cleaner tablets, which all come in compostable packaging and dissolve easily in water. We also offer their dishwasher tabs or powder, all of which are non-toxic, non-plastic, and eco-friendly.

Meliora

Meliora is Green Llama’s sister from the North. It’s also woman-owned; the founder, Kate, started the business in Chicago while studying for her Master's in Environmental Engineering (she’s got chops), and we’re proud to offer her Gentle Home Cleaning Scrub, Foaming Hand Soap Refills, Laundry Powder Detergent, Oxygen Brightener Bleach Alternative, and the Soap Stick. Here’s where I sound like a broken record: everything listed is non-toxic and eco-friendly.

Vitality

Vitality is a veteran-owned company out of North Carolina, whose founders saw firsthand, while on deployment, the waste stream that can create oceanic flotillas of trash and landfills that continue to look more and more like the Himalayas with each passing day. Their Dryer Sheets are a non-toxic, no-shed, plant-based alternative that won’t stick to your freshly washed clothes, and the same goes for their Detergent Sheets. And yes, they offer non-scented options for the sensitive-skinned population (like myself).

All the products you could need, all in one convenient place. Healthy products, made by incredible people for the betterment of our health and our planet. If that wasn’t good enough, 100% of profits go to our friends at the Coral Reef Alliance.
