Where the Money is Going

Coral Reef Alliance

EcoGeek is giving 100% of profits to the Coral Reef Alliance, specifically the Maui Watershed Restoration project. The Coral Reef Alliance tackles the complexity of coral reef die-offs by working in and out of the water. The Maui Watershed Restoration project is a land based project to reduce sediment runoff that blocks sunlight from reaching the coral reefs of Hawai'i.

    Great scrub brush

More pleasant to hold than sponges, and I like that there is no plastic. Works very well with the solid soap. It's not that heavy duty so keep that in mind

Easy swap, gentler on your hands

I've loved natural scrub brushes because if they shed it's not plastic going everywhere. Here's two photos comparing another brush I got before ecogeek offered their brush. The ecogeek brush is softer on the bristles, but it bounces back better after tough cleans. And it's not has devastating if you accidentally scrub your hand while cleaning. The handle is also wider so it's easier to grib and scrub without straining your wrist!

    It's ok.

Handle feels small to get a good grip. I'm an able bodied 5'3" woman so you can imagine the size of my hand. I think older folks would have a hard time gripping it. Nice shape of the handle tho! The wood is an uncoated light wood with a nice and simple look to it. The sanding finish of the wood is ok, it is rough in some spots but it helps with gripping it while wet. A crack has started forming where a natural knott in the wood is. I'm giving the handle a food grade mineral oil spa treatment in hopes to re-hydrate and strengthen the wood. Bristles are staying in pretty good shape after many scrubs and they are easy to clean of debris. I'm worried that the cracking wood may cause some fibers to come loose, but I haven't experienced any fiber shed yet.
