    Lasts forever

I am amazed at how much of this is left after a month of use. Makes me realize how much liquid soap is wasted. Lasts forever and cleans well. Woohoo!

Nice for Hand Washing Dishes but Not a Total Replacement

I really like this dish soap. I thought it would be more of an adjustment to go to solid soap, but it cleans really well and looks nice on the counter. I do find I have to steady the block with one hand while I scrub to get soap on my brush, but I don't really mind that. I have found I cannot completely replace liquid soap since sometimes I like to soak things, and there isn't a great way to do that with this. It has nonetheless reduced my liquid dish soap usage significantly. The first block I got lasted my 2-person household (with dishwasher) about 3 months. Technically I still have a little of the old one left to use up! I was not very strategic with my first soap block and I ended up boring a hole into the middle, leading it to became a wonky upside down tooth-like shape that made it hard to set the scrub brush on top of it. I have high hopes for myself that this time, I will do a better job of evenly working the block down. Hopefully. Maybe.

    Such an obvious solution!

This soap smells great, better than Dawn in my opinion since the smell of lemongrass doesn't clash so much with the smell of wet dirty dishes. It sudses (is that a word?) up surprisingly well, though I'm not sure if my picture catches it too well. My hands also smell great, and I don't get the undying urge to wash my hands after doing the dishes like I usually do. But my favorite part of the soap is that there's zero plastic in the packaging, and the bar prevents you from accidentally using too much like traditional liquid soap. Also the soap and dish look better in my kitchen but that's probably not that important lol. Anyway, five stars.

    Doing dishes is more fun

Washing dishes with the solid dish soap and scrub brush is so much more enjoyable and less gross. It works great to get a little bit more soap from the bar instead of pouring too much slimy soap from a bottle. The lemongrass scent is also very nice, refreshing and clean smelling without being over powering

Excellent product improved by an cheap and easy hack

I got a bunch of EcoGeek products for my parents for Christmas, and this is the only one that wasn’t an instant hit. My dad found it impractical to use, because it gets too slippery to hold and is impossible to use without getting both hands soapy. Luckily I am happy to announce that we have solved this issue cheaply and easily, and it was such a good fix that it made it even easier to use than liquid soap. It may even make it last longer. I’m writing this review mostly so other people can try this.

He bought a 2 inch silicone ice cube mold, drilled a few drain holes, slid the soap inside (it’s a perfect fit) and presto! Solved. As he uses the soap, he plans to add simple shims underneath and maybe on one side to keep it centered and at the top, but it may not even be necessary since you can just grip the soap through the flexible sides of the mold to hold it in place. This cost him 2 dollars and five minutes to make, is food safe, and it has been a smash success. For anyone else finding this to be an issue, you should really try this solution.

Honestly, if EcoGeek doesn’t start selling a branded version of this, they are leaving money on the table. I hope this helps someone, or encourages someone to try the soap if they otherwise wouldn’t.
