Where it Comes From

The Sun Basin

The Sun Basin is a remote valley cradled in the mountains of Missoula, MT. Wind catches words, moments, and memories, sweeps them into the sky, and settles them gently into the basin, allowing us to gather them up as inspiration and present them to Botanie, our local soap making partners. Botanie then distills the memories, mixes them in small batches with gorgeous natural ingredients, and turns out bars of soap that are good for your skin and your soul.

    So much better than shaving cream

    As a trans masc person, I’m learning to shave later in life and I’ve been dreading trying to shave since every time I somehow end up with shaving cream everywhere and patches of hair still around. This bar lathers really nicely but can be put on thin enough where I can still see the hair underneath to make sure I got it all. It stays lathery for a good while and can be reactivated with a wet hand. The smell is nice, though a bit powerful for my taste. It reminds of walking into an incense shop or a witch’s log cabin. My face feels smooth and hydrated after. The bar also seems like it will last a long time; so far it looks exactly the same as fresh out of the box.

    It was so nice to finally get a clean shave without making a big mess!
