The Light Roast

Whether you are a coffee beginner looking for your preferred roast, or a coffee expert who obsesses over every grind, we cannot recommend the calypso roast highly enough. Light roasts have a higher caffeine content than darker roasts, making them perfect for a bright first cup of the day, or a pick me up in the afternoon when the hours start to drag. Try it out.

Where it Comes From

Salgar, Colombia

Coffee can be a dirty industry. From low standards of labor practices, to environmental damage, this is a luxury that we should look at with a critical eye. Knowing this, we needed to make sure that the Keats & Co was working with ethically sourced ingredients. That is where Sucafina and the Green Coffee Company came in. Sucafina put us in touch with small farmers cooperatives and the larger Green Coffee Company to make sure that we are sourcing the highest quality beans from farms that take care of their workers and the environment.     Great Conversations

    I own a tiny bar and in the bar I also serve this coffee. I love using the back of the package as a talking point. It takes people by surprise when I mention TB has to do with this coffee followed by great coversations.

    Weekend Brew

    Our family has been enjoying this lighter roast on the weekends. It is fine for weekdays, but the lighter roast lets us slow down and relax with a delicious pot of good coffee. We love just a bit of milk and sugar. This coffee is a real treat.

    can't drink coffee at my parents' house now

    literally like the title says. these beans have totally ruined me for the tried and true instant coffee my mother in law keeps in her kitchen. i've always enjoyed coffee, but this has made me a snob.

    other bonuses: the super earth-friendly packaging and the wonderful customer support team when the mail loses my packages

    Great coffee for a great cause!

    My wife and I love this coffee! I have been a Nerdfighter for a long time and have supported many of Hank & John's initiatives over the years. I believe in what they do and stand for and want to support them in any way that I can. That said, if we didn't truly enjoy the taste of this coffee, we would not spend money to drink coffee we didn't like, just for the support. We would simply find another way to support the cause. Fortunately for us, we get high quality coffee that is legitimately great AND get to support a wonderful charity that is truly doing amazing things to decrease the level of suck in the world...one cup at a time. :)
