Five Fleeting Pleasures to Lean Into This Holiday Season

Upgrading your everyday with small-but-mighty moments can turn daily routines into mini joys worth savoring. By Aly Krajewski, Good Store.

I find a certain kind of magic in the tiny, unassuming things that make winter feel special. Not the grand gestures or big-ticket events, but the small indulgences that remind me I’m a person, not just a gift-wrapping, cookie-baking machine (though I am both of those things, too). The older I get, the more I start to believe that the secret to surviving this season might just be finding joy in these fleeting, everyday pleasures.

Here are five that Good Store can help you to lean into:

1. The Long, Overdue Bath That Feels Like a Vacation

You know that feeling when you finally get a night to yourself? The world goes quiet, the phone goes face-down, and you feel like you’re able to truly exhale for the first time since you woke up. I’ve been loving the simplicity of dropping one of our Good Bath Bombs into the tub, watching it fizz and swirl like a little alchemy experiment, and letting the scent do its thing. It’s not a spa day. It’s a Tuesday night that got a little upgrade.

2. The Shower Soap That Doubles as Aromatherapy

If you’re more of a steamy shower savant in the snowy season, the Holiday Soap 3-Pack could be your new best friend. Each bar is festive without being too festive (we promise, no candy-cane overload). Think forest walks, winter air, and cozy kitchens. Rotate through them as the season goes on—or, if you’re feeling generous, give one away.

3. The Coffee Worth Savoring Every Sip

I can’t believe I’m saying this in early November, but I’m already stressed about holiday shopping. Luckily, holiday errands hit differently when I’ve got a hot cup of something perfect in my hand. Our Octavia Medium-Dark Roast Coffee is smooth and rich, with just enough bite to remind me that I’m alive (and doing great). Sometimes I’ll brew it in the morning before the house wakes up, but I’m not too proud to share that I like brewing it best before a marathon of gift-wrapping in the evening.

4. The Sweatshirt That Becomes Your Emotional Support Outfit

You know the one: soft, perfectly oversized, probably a little too cozy to be “public” attire, but you wear it out anyway. That’s the Good Store Crew Neck. It’s just the right weight to get you through a chilly grocery run or a lazy weekend morning. And, if you’re gifting one, it’s a hug someone else can wear.

5. The Candle That Makes Your Space Smell Like Pure Holiday Cheer

Ambiance ranks pretty high on my list of “winter essentials” these days, whether that’s visual, audio-based, or scented. I light one of our Mini Holiday Candles and suddenly my home office smells like a seasonal storybook. They’re small, which means I scatter them everywhere— bathroom, bedside, entryway—and they still pack a cozy punch regardless of location.

This time of year can move fast. But it’s the small moments that can make it feel special. So as you check off everyone else’s wish lists, remember to sneak a little something for yourself. You deserve it.
