I love this lotion bar, but it comes with a lot of caveats. What you need to know before you buy:
- This is beeswax & plant oil-based, so it's going to be a solid puck in cooler temperatures. I found the most effective way of using it was to take it out of the tin and rub it between my hands / on my skin to let my body heat melt it a bit. But this does mean I've dropped it several times, which isn't great for hygiene, and some gets wasted when I wipe it off. Would really love an alternative packaging option to make it easier to handle / apply.
- The beeswax is going to mostly stay on the surface of your skin, and this can feel 'greasy' to some people. If you haven't used a beeswax or other occlusive cream/lotion before, be warned that this won't fully absorb the way that a water-based moisturising cream/lotion will (like most of the ones that come in pump bottles / squeeze tubes).
- The product image is a bit misleading - the bar was significantly smaller than the tin when I received it, which is fine for how I use it, but I imagine it'd be annoying for anyone trying to use it like a normal balm/ointment by swiping some off the top, because it's going to slide around the tin. Assuming it's warm enough where you are to actually use it that way in the first place.
- "Unscented" in this case means no added fragrances - it has a slight beeswax/honey scent, with maybe traces of the other ingredients, so if you're after a truly neutral, scent-free lotion, this isn't it.
