A few short decades ago, it was downright difficult to be an actively eco-conscious consumer.  The internet was just burgeoning into its current form of infinite offerings, but before that time, you couldn’t just walk into any old grocery store and find products that were as concerned with Mother Nature as they were with degreasing power or bleachy whiteness. That was then, this is now. In 2026, the internet - for its many faults - does make it easy to be a conscious consumer. Listen, we all need sponges, sprays and soaps. It’s just now easier than ever to make sure the sponges, sprays and soaps we’re using are as gentle on the environment as they are tough on messes. The ultimate kitchen cleaner

One of the most noticeable impact makers I’ve been using is the Swedish Dish Cloth. This thing is the ultimate kitchen-cleaner. Seriously. It lives on my counter next to the dish rack, and whenever I’m done with the dishes and the countertop needs a little attention, this thing springs to action. A dirty counter, kitchen appliance or stove hates to see this guy coming; it makes kitchen clean up a breeze. I can’t tell you how many paper towels this thing has saved. It’s as simple as wetting in the sink, cleaning, washing out with soap, rinsing and hanging to dry. Every week or so, I’ll throw it in a load of laundry to get it extra clean, but I will say that’s definitely been the biggest test of this little cloth’s longevity. I’ve had mine for just about a year now, and the trips to through the washer and dryer are starting to show. A couple pinholes are starting to show its tenure and tell a tale of its extensive service. It just adds character for now, really. Still cleans fine and has many more weeks left in it. You will notice right away how many paper products the Swedish Dish Cloth saves you once you start using it. I can’t recommend it enough, and I’m sure the trees feel the exact same way.

There’s a reason they’re out there. And there’s a middle-ground between the person who is drying their hands with paper towels when a cloth towel would do fine, and the person who uses them for the messes that simply necessitate a paper towel. Let me illustrate my point. My cat had a bladder stone when he was 1, and he’s had some bizarre bathroom habits since then. He insists on having 2 litter boxes in a 1 cat home. He’s very picky about his litter, and even with all of the accommodations… He’ll pee on top of his enclosed litter box. That happened just last night. Love the guy to death, and if that’s the cost of having a hilarious little orange creature in my house, I’d pay it 10 times over. My point is that some messes are not suited for the Swedish Dish Cloth. A puddle of pee is definitely still a paper-towel sort of mess. Bamboo Paper Towels are the way.
