Awesome Socks Club’s March 2026 Artist: Ketaki Watve

ASC’s March Artist is a lover of all things feathered, furred, and found in the wild.

This month at Awesome Socks Club, we’re excited to spotlight Ketaki Watve (she/they), a wildlife illustrator based in India. Ketaki’s work celebrates the biodiversity of her home landscape, drawing from a lifelong closeness to the mountains and the animals that inhabit them.

An Interview With Awesome Socks Club's March Artist

Do you have any favorite themes you enjoy working with?I love to draw birds, animals, and nature, especially species found in India.

What mediums do you like to work in?
Mainly digital, but I'm trying to keep up with traditional too, whenever I can (it's difficult :p).

Can you talk a little about your design process? Where do you draw your inspiration from, and how do you workshop your design from draft to final?
I have always been drawn to wildlife ever since I was a kid. Having lived near the mountains my whole life, the close proximity to nature has been a constant inspiration to create art that reflects the biodiversity of India.

My design process usually begins with looking up some photographs of the animals for references and then sketching out the design, making a few variations, selecting one, and then moving on to colour.
