I'm one of those people who can't walk into a craft store between September and January because the heavy cinnamon and clove scent gives me headaches and nausea. For this reason you will not be shocked to learn that I'm not a fan of chai, but I wanted to try every other tea on offer, and the sample pack was the most effective way to do that. On arrival the entire package smelled heavily of clove. I immediately opened it and separated the other teas from the chai, and let them all sit in open air for a couple of weeks before I started tasting them. So far the Moonlit Mint and the breakfast blend have both, after brewing, carried the scent of cloves with them into the final tea. I can tell they're good teas underneath that, but if you're not a fan of chai or if you'd just like to experience the other teas as they actually are, I have to recommend purchasing your chai separately from anything else consumable, until/unless the packaging becomes clove-proof (which, in fairness, I do understand that it's a strong, sticky, permeating scent, and packaging that would entirely contain it might be impossible).
