    Doing dishes is more fun

Washing dishes with the solid dish soap and scrub brush is so much more enjoyable and less gross. It works great to get a little bit more soap from the bar instead of pouring too much slimy soap from a bottle. The lemongrass scent is also very nice, refreshing and clean smelling without being over powering

Excellent product improved by an cheap and easy hack

I got a bunch of EcoGeek products for my parents for Christmas, and this is the only one that wasn’t an instant hit. My dad found it impractical to use, because it gets too slippery to hold and is impossible to use without getting both hands soapy. Luckily I am happy to announce that we have solved this issue cheaply and easily, and it was such a good fix that it made it even easier to use than liquid soap. It may even make it last longer. I’m writing this review mostly so other people can try this.

He bought a 2 inch silicone ice cube mold, drilled a few drain holes, slid the soap inside (it’s a perfect fit) and presto! Solved. As he uses the soap, he plans to add simple shims underneath and maybe on one side to keep it centered and at the top, but it may not even be necessary since you can just grip the soap through the flexible sides of the mold to hold it in place. This cost him 2 dollars and five minutes to make, is food safe, and it has been a smash success. For anyone else finding this to be an issue, you should really try this solution.

Honestly, if EcoGeek doesn’t start selling a branded version of this, they are leaving money on the table. I hope this helps someone, or encourages someone to try the soap if they otherwise wouldn’t.

Air dried dishes, leaves water spots, greasy film with hard water

Our water is very hard, lots of minerals, the area is known for it. This is the second bar dish soap, different companies, different ingredients, I've tried. We don't have a machine dishwasher, just our hands. I really wanted to switch to bar soap instead of shipping water. Apparently no bar dish soap works without leaving water spots and grease if the dishes are allowed to air dry. I don't have time to hand-wash and hand-dry everything.

Perhaps the water spots could be tolerated but there's a greasy film that can be felt by hand after they are "clean". If I towel dried, am I just transferring the grease onto a towel but the dishes are still dirty? I've tried various washing techniques. This time, I frequently rubbed the bar into the dish cloth (every 2-3 dishes)to make sure there was soap on there as perhaps I wasn't using enough soap in the cloth. I made sure to change the soaking water frequently, my hands were freshly cleaned with soap when rinsing with hot running water. How are there still water spots and a greasy film on all the dishes?

I'm very disappointed. I will be only using liquid dish soap in the future. Maybe if there isn't hard water in your home it works?

better workflow than liquid soap, smells fantastic

Can't yet attest to how long this bar lasts, but I don't have a dishwasher and it's holding up pretty well so far. Very dense. The lemongrass scent is glorious. A lot easier to just swipe the brush over a solid bar sitting to the side than to open a bottle, pour it out, and put the bottle back. Also, just looks a lot nicer on the counter than a jug of neon fluid.

    I love this dishsoap

This solid dish soap is excellent. It cleans effectively and doesn’t cause any skin sensitivity. It pairs perfectly with the scrubbing brush and the type of dish sponge/cloth I use.
