Where it Comes From

The Sun Basin

The Sun Basin is a remote valley cradled in the mountains of Missoula, MT. Wind catches words, moments, and memories, sweeps them into the sky, and settles them gently into the basin, allowing us to gather them up as inspiration and present them to Botanie, our local soap making partners. Botanie then distills the memories, mixes them in small batches with gorgeous natural ingredients, and turns out bars of soap that are good for your skin and your soul.

    Best shampoo bar (and tried many)

    I have wavy/mildly curly hair, so over the last few years I've been trying to perfect my hair care routine. I love the idea of shampoo bars because they haveecologically sustainable packaging. I've used plenty of expensive bars in the past that cannot compare to this product. The lather is immediate, the formula truly cuts through the dense grease that can accumulate on my thick curls, and yet it still is able to produce a luxurious moisturizing lather at the same time. By far the easiest shampoo bar to use in terms of the amount of effort it takes to lather into the hair (less head scrubbing time!), and I can tell it truly cleans my hair. I've only used it once but I'm very, very satisfied and this is going to become a bathroom staple for me for the foreseeable future - especially because I get to support the Good Store by purchasing an already gray product! Oh, and it doesn't weigh my hair down - i found that my curls looked easy better after using this than other expensive, liquid-encased-in-plastic shampoos that are specifically marketed for curly hair. This shampoo gave my hair a lot of volume! Be sure to thoroughly moisturize with your favorite conditioners, as this is a light and airy deep-clean kind of shampoo. Still moisturizing, but my hair gets frizzy so I'll need to use more LOC.

    Bright and soothing scents

    I really love this one. It has a bright and soothing scent that is extremely pleasant while showering. Does the job without leaving soapy residue on the skin and leaves my skin feeling soft and clean. Would recommend will buy again.

    Smell like summer

    I never really liked bar soap until I started buying them here. I originally bought a bunch for Christmas presents of a variety of scents. After keeping one for myself to try it out. I found I quite liked it.. This particular citrus is a new favorite! It feels amazing and does not leave a soapy residue on the skin. I will definitely purchase again!

    Great soap

    These soaps are great at making your skin feel very clean without a residue or any real scent on the skin. The cinnamon in this scent is really great at making the whole shower feel warm and homey.

    The Longevity??? Hello???

    I was excited to buy this with the Christmas discount so I could support this great company, knowing where 100% of the profit would be going. It's fine if it doesn't work out well for my hair, I told myself. I could always just use the two I bought as hand soap bars, right?

    Y'all.

    I have had super-fine, super-straight and super-greasy hair for like 18 years of my life UNTIL THIS YEAR — ever since I started using it on January 1 I've had the 3-days-long soft breezy volume I've been searching every brand for. No adjustment period, no skin irritation, and no waxy buildup that other shampoo bar tutorial websites warned me about. I don't even need conditioner for my ends anymore.

    But the most impressive part is how long it lasts, compared to other bars of soap I've used. Look at this picture — I used the Dew Drop shampoo bar on the bottom left every 2 to 3 days from January 1 to April 1, and used the Dove bar on the bottom right for 3 weeks *less*: the exact length of time for the Dove bar to self-destruct. Pathetic. Skill issue. Even through the learning curve in the first month where I DEFINITELY used way too much, Dew Drop has gone from the shape of a macaron to a red blood cell, only shrinking slightly in the process. At this rate it might last me well into August, which makes it more cost effective than the relatively cheap Cantu cleansing shampoo that treated me pretty well last year.

    This is a high-quality product that I would annoy my friends about buying even if it was…
