Product Info

The soap saver is made from poplar wood. Each one, unique. Each one holding tales from years of growth. Rings as years, grain as quiet histories. When you hold it, take a moment to think of that tree. Spring rains on newly formed leaves, and squirrels nest’s high in the branches. Take these histories with you, and breathe.

Dimensions: 2.7" by 4" by 3/4" thick, however, due to the fact that they are handmade, they may vary slightly in size.

Materials: Poplar wood rubbed in mineral oil

Care Instructions: All products made of wood will need some maintenance, and this is the case for our soap dishes, too. The wood will warp if it absorbs too much moisture. If you find your dish is warping, clean off all soap residue and then let the dish air dry. After drying, we recommend applying oil (the same kind you would use for cutting boards, such as mineral oil) to keep the wood supple and prevent water retention.

Soap savers ship separately from your soap products and soap is not included.

Where it Comes From

The Sun Basin

The Sun Basin is a remote valley cradled in the mountains of Missoula, MT. Wind catches words, moments, and memories, sweeps them into the sky, and settles them gently into the basin, allowing us to gather them up as inspiration and present them to Botanie, our local soap making partners. Botanie then distills the memories, mixes them in small batches with gorgeous natural ingredients, and turns out bars of soap that are good for your skin and your soul.

The founding goal of the Good Store is to make amazing products that donate to a good cause. One hundred percent of the profits from Sun Basin Soap go towards building the Maternal Center of Excellence in Sierra Leone.     Almost perfect

    Stops my soap from slipping into the shower, or from fusing to the shower. However sometimes it can get stuck on the saver occasionally.

    Keeps my basin tidy and clean and saves my soap

    I bought two, one for my shower and one for my sink. It keeps my bathroom tidy because I don't have to leave the soap on the ceramic like before where it would just tick to the base when I need to use it and leaves all the residue that I have to scrub off. The Soap saver keeps the water from going everywhere after I use the soap and no soap residue everywhere.

    Simple solution to a perpetual problem

    My soap does still get stuck to this soap saver; I recommend twisting (rather than pulling) to remove it. It helps if you leave a corner of the soap sticking off the edge. I'm currently travelling without this and it really is clear how much more soap gets left behind on surfaces!

    Upgrading My Life

    I generally am a minimalist, so for most of my life I just had a regular bar of soap resting on the side of my shower/tub. The soap would stick to it and leave all sorts of soap residue, which would be annoying to clean and waste some it. I decided to add the soap saver to my first sun-basin soap subscription, and I swear I love it more than the actual soap. My shower looks so much neater now, requires less cleaning, and the soap bar noticeably decreases more slowly than it used to by a large margin. Simple, fantastic product that's upgrading my life!
